From the online documentation, it appears that this would be the case at the cost of synchronizing other Google account information. How does one access the server connection controls on the Gmail connection inside of Outlook 365 for Mac? I am going to investigate this from the Google server side too. Is this a problem with the standard Outlook 365 Mac for Gmail configuration? We have already tried removing and reconnecting the account. We have been unable to find any expanded control to tweak the Gmail server connection itself it seems to be hardwired by Microsoft's synch software for Gmail. Except for not seeing the older messages, the email connection is working normally: new messages can arrive and be sent. Hitting the Send/Receive button does bring down additional messages at the rate of about 10 messages per button hit. Microsoft's documentation notes that Google does throttle the downloading for large numbers of messages and that it can take days to complete large message downloads, but in this case it has been a week with no further downloads. Something in the setup is throttling the downloading of messages: in this case the messages stopped downloading after 8,000 were downloaded.
